In June of this year, a major ravaged the Australian Bulk Minerals, Savage River Mine site, extensively damaging a significant proportion of the mill's production equipment.
SEMF was called on to assist with restoring the 3.3kV power feeds to the various areas of the site and to assess the scope of the fire damage.
Once the decision was made to undertake repairs to the mill plant and equipment and continue operations at Savage River, SEMF was asked to assist with assessing damage and provide the electrical engineering component of the rebuilding process.
The mill plant was brought back on line to half capacity in August of this year, returning to full capacity in October.
SEMF was able to provide staff at short notice, drawing from a team of engineers from three different locations. Staff involved with working on this project and arranging resources were Pieter Blom and Jeremy Smith (Launceston), Simon Little (Melbourne) and Ben Evans and Steve Dadswell (Hobart).
